Brittany Cass and her family reside in Kailua on the Windward side of Oahu. She and her husband – a proud U.S. Marine – and their three young children moved to Hawaii a few years back for his work. Like many in our islands, it’s got its ups and downs.
On Januray 4, 2022, a relatively uneventful evening drive home after attending a church event disrupted Brittany Cass and her family’s life when an impaired driver entered the highway against traffic – the wrong way – and would crash into Brittany Cass’ vehicle and proceed to hit three additional cars before coming to a stop.
We touch upon that night – the fear, the worry – and the months of surgeries and rehabilitation to regain strength and her physical independence. We also talk about what she’s gained since that first couple of years after the crash.
As April is Alcohol Awareness Month, Brittany shares insights on what Hawaii’s laws are about BAC/blood alcohol concentration and how we can each be the difference today.
