City Traffic Advisory: Pavement Repairs in Kakaʻako

Posted by kathywithak on September 9, 2026 in Featured

[September 9, 2026] HONOLULU — The City and County of Honolulu’s Department of Facility Maintenance (DFM) will partially close lanes on Waimanu Street from Dreier Street to Ward Avenue, Kawaiaha‘o Street from Cooke Street to Ward Avenue, and Ilaniwai Street from Cooke Street to Kamani Street for necessary pavement repairs, beginning Monday, September 14, 2026.

Weather and conditions permitting, the construction work will be conducted Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., excluding all observed State holidays. It is anticipated to be completed by November 13, 2026.

Motorists and pedestrians are advised to avoid the work zones and use alternate routes where possible. If travel through the area is unavoidable, please allow for additional travel time and obey posted traffic signs. Access to driveways fronting the affected properties may be temporarily restricted while work is underway. Emergency access will be maintained at all times.

DFM consultant BOW Construction Management Service, Inc. will manage and coordinate the project, including local traffic, access to businesses, deliveries, trash collection and emergency services. For any questions or concerns about the project, please call BOW Construction at (808) 520-1733.
