Sabrina Carpenter’s “Manchild” Rockets to No. 1, Sets Chart History Ahead of New Album Sabrina Carpenter’s “Manchild” Rockets to No. 1, Sets Chart History Ahead of New Album

Sabrina Carpenter has done it again. The rising pop powerhouse has debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with her latest single “Manchild,” marking her second career chart-topper and her first to open directly at the summit.

Co-written and co-produced with Jack Antonoff and Amy Allen, “Manchild” serves as the lead single from Carpenter’s upcoming album Man’s Best Friend, set for release on August 29. The track quickly became the top-selling song of the week, amassing 27.1 million streams, 14 million in radio airplay impressions, and 20,000 total sales, including a standout 14,000 vinyl copies featuring an exclusive B-side titled Inside of Your Head When You’ve Just Won an Argument with a Man.

“Manchild” also debuts at No. 1 on the Streaming Songs chart and enters the top 25 on Pop and Adult Pop Airplay. With this feat, Carpenter becomes the only woman this year to achieve multiple Hot 100 No. 1s without any featured collaborators.

Following the success of “Please Please Please,” “Taste,” and “Espresso,” Carpenter’s chart dominance shows no signs of slowing—positioning her as one of pop’s most formidable new icons.
