Janet Jackson is ready to reclaim center stage. CBS and Dick Clark Productions announced that the pop legend and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee will receive the prestigious ICON Award at the 2025 American Music Awards, airing live from Fontainebleau Las Vegas on May 26. Jackson, a global powerhouse with over 180 million records sold, will also deliver her first televised performance since 2018.

Celebrating 50 years in the industry, Jackson continues to captivate new audiences, with her 2001 hit “Someone to Call My Lover” recently resurging on the charts thanks to a viral social media trend. Her enduring impact is undeniable, with multiple Grammys, an Emmy, and a record-setting Las Vegas residency under her belt.

Hosted by Jennifer Lopez, the 51st AMAs promise a night of unforgettable performances, including appearances by Lopez herself. Following the AMAs, Jackson will continue her JANET JACKSON: LAS VEGAS residency with additional shows at Resorts World Theatre.

Fan voting is now open for the AMAs, with Kendrick Lamar leading this year’s nominations. But on Memorial Day, all eyes will be on Jackson — a trailblazer, a legend, and now, the latest recipient of the music industry’s highest honor.
