At this year’s Met Gala, Bebe Rexha stunned in a custom Christian Siriano gown — but while she graced the carpet in style, online trolls took aim at her body. Among the harshest critics was rapper Azealia Banks, who made degrading comments about Rexha’s appearance on X, sparking an emotional and powerful response from the pop star.
Rexha didn’t just defend herself — she exposed the deeper pain behind the criticism. Revealing she has PCOS and recently experienced a pregnancy loss, Rexha reminded fans and critics alike that health and healing often go unseen. “I never owed anyone that truth,” she wrote in a since-deleted tweet, “but maybe now you’ll think twice before commenting on anyone’s body.”
Her clapback also included a note of compassion. Suggesting therapy and healing to Banks, Rexha flipped the script with empathy rather than malice: “Healing looks good on everyone. Try it.”
Rexha has long been outspoken about body image, famously calling out designers who refused to dress her for the Grammys because of her size. Now, years later, she walked the Met Gala red carpet in full glam — a defiant reminder that beauty, strength, and vulnerability can coexist.
