Quinta Brunson Shines Bright in Bold Return to “SNL” Quinta Brunson Shines Bright in Bold Return to “SNL”

As “Saturday Night Live” nears the end of its milestone 50th season, Quinta Brunson’s return to Studio 8H provided the late-night staple with a much-needed jolt of energy. Kicking off with a musical monologue that featured surprise appearances from Sabrina Carpenter and Dwyane Wade, Brunson brought humor, charisma, and undeniable stage presence to every sketch.

Though some live bits suffered from formulaic writing, Brunson’s full-throttle commitment made even the weakest premises pop. Her chemistry with the cast, especially longtime standout Kenan Thompson, was undeniable—particularly in one of the night’s best pre-taped sketches, where the pair played senior citizens revealing their raunchy new OnlyFans-inspired side hustle.

Another highlight was the faux-commercial “Forever 31,” skewering the awkward evolution of fashion post-20s. The painfully relatable wardrobe choices had viewers howling with recognition.

On Weekend Update, fan-favorite duo Sarah Sherman and Bowen Yang stole the spotlight as sleazy suburbanites waxing poetic about Applebee’s. Their unhinged chemistry and spontaneous on-screen kiss proved to be a high point of the night.

With just two episodes left, Brunson’s return reaffirmed why she’s one of the freshest comedic voices in the industry. “SNL” is back May 11 with Walton Goggins and Arcade Fire.
