Betty White Honored with USPS Stamp Betty White Honored with USPS Stamp

The United States Postal Service (USPS) has released a new Forever stamp honoring the late actress and animal advocate Betty White, who passed away at age 99 in December 2021. The stamp, available from March 27, 2025, features an illustration of White wearing a polka-dotted blue top against a violet background adorned with pastel bubbles, capturing her effervescent personality. Notably, the design includes a subtle paw print earring, symbolizing her lifelong dedication to animal welfare.

Illustrated by Dale Stephanos and designed by Greg Breeding, the stamp’s image is based on a 2010 photograph by Kwaku Alston. Stephanos chose the violet background as it represents the color of protest, reflecting White’s advocacy efforts. He remarked, “She had such a positive personality… She never seemed angry, even though protest is a form of anger.”

Throughout her illustrious career spanning over 60 years, White starred in iconic television shows such as “The Mary Tyler Moore Show,” “The Golden Girls,” and “Hot in Cleveland.” Her contributions earned her multiple accolades, including five Primetime Emmy Awards. Beyond her entertainment achievements, White was renowned for her passionate support of animal welfare, receiving the American Veterinary Medical Association’s Humane Award in 1987.

The commemorative stamp serves as a fitting tribute to Betty White’s enduring impact on both the entertainment industry and animal advocacy, allowing fans to celebrate her legacy with each piece of mail sent.
