In Hawaii, lots of kids and young adults got their swimming lessons at the regional or neighborhood pool with lifeguards who were certified in water safety through the Hawaii Red Cross.
That goes for many throughout the nation and the American Red Cross, Pacific Islands Region continues to educate and welcome volunteers in times of peace and in times of emergencies.
