GWAR Unleashes “The Return of Gor-Gor” Tour and Multimedia Album for 40th Anniversary
Metal legends GWAR are marking their 40th anniversary with a monstrous new project — and yes, it includes the return of one of their most fearsome creatures.
In a video posted to GWAR’s social media, actor and longtime fan Ethan Embry — famously devoured by The World Maggot in Empire Records — issued an ominous warning: “The return of Gor-Gor is upon us.”
The band confirmed the news Tuesday, unveiling The Return of Gor-Gor Tour, a fall North American trek coinciding with the release of a unique multimedia project by the same name.
The upcoming release, set for July 25, is more than just music. It features a seven-song mini LP alongside a comic book chronicling the bizarre tale of Gor-Gor, an orphaned T-Rex navigating the depravity of modern society. His journey soon collides with the infamous Scumdogs of the Universe, raising the ultimate question: friend or foe?
Billed as an epic blend of music and graphic storytelling, The Return of Gor-Gor promises a fully immersive GWAR experience — grotesque, over-the-top, and entirely unforgettable.
