Oasis Reawakens: Bono Cheers the Return of Britpop’s Loudest Brothers

Sixteen years after their last explosive gig—and even more explosive feud—Oasis is storming back into the spotlight, and even Bono is counting down the days.

In a new interview with Zane Lowe, the U2 frontman gushed over the Gallagher brothers’ long-awaited reunion, describing their sound as “swaggering” and “filthy” in all the right ways. “They just blew the preciousness out of indie,” Bono said, calling the band’s return a much-needed shakeup to modern rock. “They were raw, they were groovy, and they were out to conquer.”

The Oasis Live ’25 Tour launches July 4 in Cardiff, Wales, and promises to be more than a nostalgic cash-in. With whispers from Noel about how “shocked” he is by how good the band sounds, and Liam bragging about a rehearsal that “sounded f–king FILTHY,” fans are expecting thunder, not just echoes.

With stadiums across Europe, Asia, and the Americas bracing for impact, Oasis isn’t just revisiting glory—they’re rewriting their legacy. And as Bono said with a grin, “I think we’re going to have a good summer.”
