Rock Icons Robbed: Heart’s Nancy Wilson Pleads for Return of Stolen Instruments

A moment of nostalgia turned into a nightmare for rock legend Nancy Wilson of Heart, after her cherished guitar and a bandmate’s mandolin were stolen from the Hard Rock Casino in Atlantic City just before a scheduled concert.

Caught on CCTV, a hooded suspect was seen sneaking into the theater the night before the show and walking out with the priceless instruments. Days later, 57-year-old Garfield Bennett of Pleasantville was arrested on the beach block of Kentucky Avenue. Police say he tried selling the instruments on the streets.

Though one instrument may have been sold, the second’s whereabouts remain unknown. The stolen items hold deep sentimental value and are considered irreplaceable. “These are one-of-a-kind, rare instruments,” Wilson emphasized.

In a heartfelt interview from her tour stop in Chicago, Wilson issued a plea: “Appeal to the kindness in people to help find and return these precious things that are so meaningful to me and the band.”

Atlantic City police have warned that anyone caught with the stolen items will face criminal charges but are encouraging voluntary surrender.

What began as a concert weekend ended in heartbreak. Now, fans and authorities alike hope for a rock-and-roll recovery.
