Brad Arnold Reveals Stage 4 Cancer Diagnosis, 3 Doors Down Cancels Summer Tour

Brad Arnold, lead vocalist of the rock band 3 Doors Down, has shared that he’s been diagnosed with stage 4 clear cell renal carcinoma, a form of kidney cancer that has spread to his lungs. In a heartfelt video posted to the band’s Instagram, the 46-year-old musician broke the news directly to fans, stating, “That’s not real good,” but emphasizing that he remains unafraid.

Arnold’s diagnosis has prompted the band to cancel all upcoming summer tour dates, including their scheduled performance at the Welcome to Rockville Festival in Florida. “We serve a mighty God, and He can overcome anything,” Arnold said, leaning on his Christian faith. “So I have no fear.”

The singer encouraged fans to pray for him and referenced the band’s 2008 hit “It’s Not My Time,” a song about surviving against the odds, saying, “I think it’s time for me to go listen to that a little bit, right?”

Arnold, the last original member of the band, has led 3 Doors Down since 1996, penning classics like “Kryptonite” and “Here Without You.” He has been sober since 2016 and previously spoke about finding clarity and strength through sobriety.
