Ozzy Osbourne is preparing to take his final bow with a heartfelt solo performance during his long-awaited farewell concert in Birmingham this July. According to Sammy Hagar, who will be among the star-studded lineup of support acts, Ozzy plans to sing five of his own songs at the July 5 event at Villa Park.
Hagar revealed during an interview with Loudwire Nights that Rage Against the Machine’s Tom Morello, the musical director for the show, tipped him off about Ozzy’s plans—including a performance of the 1991 fan-favorite ballad “No More Tears.” Although Hagar initially planned to cover that track himself, Ozzy’s interest prompted him to switch to “Flying High Again.”
The event, dubbed a farewell celebration for both Osbourne and the original Black Sabbath lineup, will feature appearances from rock royalty including Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Slayer, Gojira, and Mastodon. Jason Momoa will host the proceedings, with all profits benefiting local Birmingham charities.
While Ozzy retired from touring last year due to Parkinson’s and ongoing health issues, he insists he’s “not dead” and remains determined to go out on a high note—singing just enough to give fans a glimpse of the legend in his element one last time.
