Neighbors across Oahu and the neighbor islands are still drying out and helping each other following the Kona Low weather system from this past weekend into work week.
Our radio station offices and studios, located in the Alakea Corporate Tower, were luckily on backup power. It was a wild vibe to go into work and notice storefronts dark, banks locked up, and streets quiet as people learned power was yet to be restored to a few Downtown Honolulu and Chinatown blocks.
The signal for 105-9 The Wave (KPOI-FM) continued though our streaming online and our free app were halted for a minute. All is good now.
