Asianna Saragosa-Torres is representing Hawaii in the 2025 Miss Volunteer America competition (June 18-June 21, 2025) at the national pageant in Jackson, Tennessee and we had a chance to catch up with her preparation and her platform of Mental Health Awareness.
I met Asia when she was a guest on a “Hawaii Matters” program on Mental Health Awareness and now, we have become co-workers here at Pacific Media Group Oahu. She is part of the Keola Show, mornings on 102.7 Da Bomb.
Asia is a public speaker and shares her personal experience navigating the mental health services available in Hawaii.
In this “Weekend Podcast”, we talk about her current project: Miss Hawai’i Volunteer! Part of our conversation covers bullying and how that affected Asia in her teen years, and how she and others can learn to grow through challenges. I like how she kept the reality of life’s ups and down part of our talk story, that we each can pace ourselves to be healthier. It’s not a race, it’s a marathon 🙂
