The JAL Honolulu Marathon has gone through a few adjustments from its first go in the early 1970’s on Oahu. It has grown into a destination race event with global appeal while keeping with its local roots in and of Hawaii.
Jim Barahal, M.D. is our guest for “Hawaii Matters” and talks about the origins of the original race (hat tip to Honolulu Mayor Frank Fasi!) and its various offshoots, including the Hapalua and King’s Runner 10K.
