Miley Cyrus Explains Why Touring No Longer Fits Her Life: “Sobriety Is My God” Miley Cyrus Explains Why Touring No Longer Fits Her Life: “Sobriety Is My God”

Miley Cyrus is drawing clear boundaries—and the tour bus isn’t part of the plan. In a candid new interview with Good Morning America, the pop icon opened up about her decision to forgo touring, despite releasing her latest album Something Beautiful.

“I have the physical ability, and I have the opportunities to tour,” Cyrus explained. “I wish I had the desire, but I don’t.” Citing concerns about sobriety and mental wellness, she shared that life on the road doesn’t align with the stability she’s worked hard to build. “Sobriety is like my God. I need it, I live for it. It’s changed my entire life.”

Cyrus described the emotional whiplash of performing to thousands, then crashing in silence backstage: “You start thinking one person loving you’s not enough—it needs to be 80,000.”

That doesn’t mean she’s retreating. The Hannah Montana alum recently stunned fans with a surprise appearance alongside Beyoncé in Paris, performing their duet “II Most Wanted.” “That to me is a win,” she said. “Not a trophy—but something real.”

While she’s still making music and showing up in powerful moments, Cyrus is making one thing clear: she’s choosing presence and peace over pressure, and it’s a win worth celebrating.
