I love to travel and sometimes I can only plan for a quick visit – be it a long weekend or in this instance, for the day.
There were three things I really wanted to do: drive up Haleakala, have a meal at the (new) Tiffany’s Wailuku, and go out to Lahaina. Two out of three was pretty good and I was introduced to a place called Kukuipuka, found at the base and up another hillside from the Waihe’e Ridge Trail (which I plan to visit in the spring, when the weather is a bit dryer yet cool!).
