Posted by kathywithak on January 15, 2022 in Kathy With a K

Yesterday (Friday, January 14, 2022), an underwater volcanic eruption near Tonga (CNN Asia) generated several tsunami warnings in the region and later, watches and advisories, including here in Hawaii (for Hawaii – issued at 12:40 a.m., January 15, 2022; canceled at 7:52 a.m., January 15, 2022)

The force generated quick moving tide changes in and surrounding the island nation of Tonga yesterday. Today (Saturday, January 15, 2022), the aftereffects were experienced along the shores throughout the Pacific Basin.
