“Step into different worlds just by picking up a book,”…that was the appeal when I was a child. My favorite book is “The Little Prince” by Antoine du Saint-Exupery and it continues to change in meaning each time I read it or just think about different characters.

Hawaii State Librarian Stacey A. Aldrich has worked in our state’s library system for some ten years and her love of reading goes beyond the physical books on the shelves at the fifty-one branches that dot our islands! Her interest in having you, me, and everyone renewing their Hawaii State Library card means more access to audiobooks, movies, and feeling good about escaping for a couple hours into that stack of books – or magazines, computers, as they are available – at home or at the Public Library.
