Arcadea Soars Beyond Gravity with New Single “Fuzzy Planet”

Brann Dailor, best known as the powerhouse drummer for Mastodon, is trading pounding riffs for cosmic grooves with his synth-prog side project, Arcadea. The trio just released their latest single, “Fuzzy Planet,” alongside a hypnotic, Bryan Bankovich-directed video that takes viewers on an interstellar journey.

The track comes from Arcadea’s forthcoming album, The Exodus of Gravity, set for release via Relapse Records on August 22. Described as a “futuristic synth-rock odyssey,” the album imagines a world where gravity is obsolete, replaced by raw emotion and boundless possibility.

Dailor and longtime collaborator Core Atoms are now joined by keyboardist João Nogueira, bringing a fresh dynamic following Raheem Amlani’s departure after the band’s 2017 debut.

“Fuzzy Planet is about that first fuzzy feeling you get when you fall in love,” explains Atoms. “Our lead character is awakening to the beauty around them.”

Dailor adds, “We wanted to lean into groove, dance, and the electronic side. Arcadea lets me explore sonic spaces beyond what I do in Mastodon.”

With pulsing synths, infectious melodies, and a visual feast to match, Fuzzy Planet sets the tone for Arcadea’s bold new chapter.
