In an unexpected yet powerful crossover, Dolly Parton and Mötley Crüe have struck gold—again. Their reimagined duet of the 1985 Crüe classic “Home Sweet Home” has climbed to No. 1 on the Mediabase Classic Rock Songs chart, nearly four decades after the song’s original release.
The refreshed version celebrates the 40th anniversary of the beloved power ballad, originally from Theatre of Pain. This marks the first time the track has topped a major chart, and the collaboration brings more than nostalgia—it also brings purpose.
A portion of the single’s proceeds will benefit Covenant House, an organization committed to helping homeless youth with shelter, meals, and support. “To sing on a song that’s meant so much to so many is truly a career high,” Mötley Crüe said in a joint statement. Parton called the opportunity “an honor and a joy.”
The official video, a heartfelt nod to the original, has already surpassed a million views on YouTube. The single will appear on From The Beginning, Mötley Crüe’s upcoming collection due September 12.
Blending glam metal grit with country soul, the duet shows that timeless music—and compassion—can transcend genres.
