Bruce Springsteen Unveils “Sunday Love” From Lost Album Ahead of ‘Tracks II’ Box Set

Bruce Springsteen is diving deep into his vaults once again, offering fans a long-lost gem titled “Sunday Love,” the first track from his unreleased album Twilight Hours. The dreamy, orchestral ballad arrives ahead of Tracks II: The Lost Albums, a new seven-album box set dropping June 27.

Twilight Hours was recorded during the same period as 2019’s Western Stars and echoes the golden age of American pop, channeling influences like Burt Bacharach. “They’re romantic, lost-in-the-city songs,” Springsteen said. “At one point, it was either a double record or part of the same record.”

The lush production features longtime collaborators Max Weinberg, Patti Scialfa, and Soozie Tyrell, along with session players Kaveh Rastegar, Scott Tibbs, and producer Ron Aniello. The track showcases Springsteen experimenting with more intricate arrangements and chord progressions than usual.

Tracks II compiles seven previously unreleased albums from 1983 to 2018, including the mariachi-tinged Inyo, the country-flavored Somewhere North of Nashville, and a cinematic score titled Faithless. One album, LA Garage Sessions ’83, remains unheard.

With Sunday Love, Springsteen invites listeners to rediscover a softer, more orchestrated side of The Boss—just in time for the final leg of his global tour.
